Officers
Denise Kasper ACC, Capital One- President
Director of Human Resources at Capital One Financial Corporation. She is a graduate of the Georgetown University Coaching program. Before moving into human resources, Denise worked in non-profit management in Texas and Michigan. Denise teaches Organizational Behavior at VCU and has an MBA from SUNY Buffalo. She earned her Masters in Education and Bachelors from the College of New Jersey.
Bob Scudder, PCC, Scudder Associates – Past President
Principal and founder of Scudder Associates LLC, a Richmond, Virginia based organizational and executive coaching firm. His background includes over 30 years of organizational leadership experience and professional development in the United States Navy, academia, corporate and non-profit business management and solo entrepreneurial practice. Bob holds the Professional Certified Coach designation from the ICF and the Certified Personal and Executive Coach designation from the College of Executive Coaching.
John D. Watt, ACC CPCC, Leadership Coaching & Adventure Learning – Treasurer
Coach, facilitator, mentor and group leader for most of his career. He formed the J Dillard Group to provide strategic planning, leadership development, team building and personal coaching. He graduated from Duke University, the Coaches Training Institute and the Institutes for Organization Management. John D. is a team leader and facilitator at Challenge Discovery, an experiential learning and outdoor adventure course. His passion is “working with people who are learning, growing, changing and stretching their lives.”
Don Blohowiak, Ph.D, ACC Leadwell Institute, - Secretary
Founder and principal of the LeadWell Institute and a graduate of the Newfield Network coach training program. He coaches executives and offers leadership development, executive education, and organization development services. Don has held executive management posts in Southern California, Milwaukee, Denver, Detroit, and New York City. His management experience spans Fortune-500 companies, high-tech startups, and not-for-profits.

Melissa Lubin, Virginia Tech Richmond Center- Director of Membership
Is the director of the Virginia Tech Richmond Center and is responsible for the university’s graduate and lifelong learning programs. She is the principal of Human Harmonics, a coaching practice that specializes in developing emerging leaders. Melissa is a Ph.D. candidate for the adult learning and human resource development program at Virginia Tech. She earned her M.B.A. from Georgia Southern. Melissa is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® and is enrolled at Coach U to pursue coaching certification credentials from the ICF
Gay Lynn Carpenter, ACC, Next Wave Coaching- Director of Marketing & Public Relations
Is the principal of Next Wave Coaching and works with upper and mid-level professionals, emerging leaders, and creative types. She is a graduate of Coach U. and the Results Coaching Systems Coaching Training Program, which uses a neuro-scientific approach that capitalizes on the brain’s ability to act on new thinking and insights. She has over 25 years experience in corporate communications and a Masters in communication management from Syracuse University.
Plum Cluverius, PCC Vedere Consulting
Director of Programs
Is a catalyst for creative change in her clients and their organizations as an executive coach, facilitator and consultant. Her clients include executives in non-profit organizations, major corporations, small business and government. Plum earned a MA in the Applied Behavioral Sciences from Whitworth College and the Leadership Institute of Seattle and has studied with numerous leaders in her field. She serves on the adjunct faculties of the Federal Executive Institute and the University of Richmond’s Robbins School of Business and is an executive coach with the United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg’s Emerging Leaders program and the Virginia Healthcare Foundation’s Leading for the Long Term program.
Jean Gasen is president of JB Gasen & Associates, a Virginia-based coaching and consulting firm.. With more than 25 years experience, Dr. Gasen uses her business leadership and academic background to help leaders clarify professional and personal goals to create specific strategies for initiating, sustaining and leading effective growth and change. Jean is also affiliated with VCU, where she serves as the Faculty Director of the Executive MS in IS program and as the Interim Director for the Center for Corporate Education in the School of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, is a graduate of Georgetown’s Leadership Coaching program and is a certified ACC coach from the International Coaching Federation.
