January 2010 Meeting
What: Anatomy of a Keynote: How speakers can leverage coaching and how coaches can leverage speaking to build business (in partnership with the National Speaker’s Association-Virginia)

Since early last year, ICF Greater Richmond has been anticipating a joint meeting with the Virginia chapter of the National Speakers Association. ICFGR member Tom Davidson, PCC, is the President of NSA-Virginia and was excited to be able to bring Former ICF President Marcia Reynolds to share her wisdom with both groups. Tom offers a description of the program and what you can expect to takeaway below:
Marcia Reynolds is a gifted professional, leader, and colleague in coaching and speaking communities. NSA Virginia is delighted to bring her to the Commonwealth to share her insights with both groups. Her presentation will explore how you can elevate the quality and marketability of your keynote programs, a vital area for NSA-Virginia members and affiliates. This ability is also especially valuable for coaches to expand your markets and connect effectively with your target markets. Marcia will also have an opportunity to deepen awareness of coaching approaches with professional speakers, many of whom are also consultants, trainers and other types of professionals who might use coaching skills to enhance their service offerings through coaching.
You will learn how to:
– Identify the theme that will attract your audience and deliver an unforgettable message.
- Use your voice, body and presence to bring your stories alive.
– Craft your keynote based on the emotions you want your audience to feel.

About the presenter
Dr. Marcia Reynolds is an expert in what triggers passion and innovation in the brain, and for two decades she has helped companies worldwide unleash the potential in their people. In addition to speaking and teaching on leadership, emotional intelligence and organizational change, she coaches executives and top talent in multi-national companies. Along with her doctorate in organizational psychology, Marcia is a Master Certified Coach and a past president of the International Coach Federation. Her new book, Wander Woman: How High Achieving Women Find Contentment and Direction, will be released in June 2010. To help her colleagues, she coaches speakers to have more emotional impact on the platform, and she offers an annual speakers’ camp for a small group every January.
